The Town of Elkton, located about 17 miles east of Harrisonburg, has purchased property across the street from the town hall and came to us with some preliminary discussions on the idea and possibility of using that property to put a market pavilion on.

During the Elkton Town Council meeting on May 17, 2022, the council voted unanimously to hire Mather Architects to design a market pavilion to be placed on the approximately two-acre property.

Upon our initial meeting with the Town of Elkton, we are planning to design an open-air pavilion that will be roughly 4,000 sf and will include two single-occupancy restrooms.  The goal of this project will be to design a community space in downtown Elkton that will be used as a farmers market and event space where people can gather and enjoy current and future events that happen in the town.  This is part of Elkton’s larger goal of creating a vibrant, walkable downtown for residents and visitors alike to enjoy.  We are looking to have the pavilion completed and ready to be used for the 2023 season.
